Safe and Effective Hydrostatic Pressure Testing

Streamline maintenance projects and avoid extended schedules with a high pressure hydrostatic test plug designed for safe and reliable pressure testing of open-end pipe, pipelines, piping systems, pipe spools, and pressure vessels.

Conventional hydro test methods for open-end pipe typically involve welding on end caps, performing the pressure test, cutting off end caps, and re-beveling the pipe. A time consuming process that can extend project schedules.

EST Group’s GripTight MAX High Pressure Test Plug significantly cuts down testing time and additional man-hours by eliminating the need to weld on/cut off end caps, allowing you to self-perform pressure tests much faster.

Our high pressure hydrostatic test plug also features patented dual-serrated grippers that offer additional gripping points on the pipe ID, providing the strength necessary to safely test at higher pressures. As hydrostatic pressure increases the seal and grippers work together to form a leak-tight seal.

Test Pressure Up to 15,000 PsiG (1,034 BarG) - higher pressures available upon request

Size Range 3/8” to 48” NPS (DN10 to DN1200) - custom sizes available upon request

Standard Seal Material Urethane - alternative materials available upon request

Features & Benefits

  • Easy installation - no welding required
  • Increased safety - patented dual-serrated gripper design uses test pressure to increase holding capabilities
  • Saves up to 85% in testing time vs. welded-on end cap procedures
  • Hardened shaft, cone, and grippers increases durability
  • Laser-marked top washer for easy identification, storage, and traceability
  • Facilitates testing in hardened materials up to HRC32
